The Common Ground project
Common Ground is an awareness raising and advocacy project in Australia set up to advance the Program of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD).
Common Ground is an alliance of the Australian Reproductive Health Alliance (ARHA), and Sexual Health & Family Planning Australia (SH&FPA).
The Common Ground project aims to:
- promote the links between population, environment and development issues; and
- increase the level of official development assistance for reproductive health and action on environment and population issues.
The Common Ground partners are members of the Asia Pacific Alliance (APA). APA is a network of non government organisations, government development assistance agencies and philanthropic foundations from donor countries of the Pacific Rim.
The objective of APA is to increase support for the population, sexual and reproductive health, environment and development objectives of the ICPD Program of Action, the Beijing Platform for Action, the United Nations General Assembly Special Session on HIV/AIDS and the Millennium Development Goals.
