Why the Kookaburra Laughs

Year – 2022

Story from – Wiradjuri Country

Filmed on – Wiradjuri Country

Told by – Ricky Ah-See

Directed by – Jack Steele

When the world was young, there was no sun in the sky like there is today. There was only the moon and the stars, and the stars were the campfires of all the Sky People. Ricky Ah-See tells the story of how the kookaburra wakes the sky people to give us the sun, and why you should never laugh at a kookaburra.
