This story is told by Djugun and Nyikina woman, Alison Torres. The story follows the journey of two young Nyikina men who hear the stories of the beautiful Sun Maidens and set out in search of them despite warnings from Elders in their community. Their beauty was more than anyone could imagine, with skin that shines bright red like their father – Barra, the sun – too hot for any person to touch. The story is about First Law, Country and the importance of listening to your Elders.
