Steven and Ivy meet Aunty Vivienne in a nearby park where she shows them that, although they are in the city, they are still surrounded by traditional bush foods and medicines. She shows them two trees that were used to cure headaches, and a delicious nut to eat for energy. Noongar people have relied on these native trees since the beginning of time, especially since there weren’t any shopping centres back in the day. Aunty Viv teaches an important lesson – the plants and trees can provide everything you need to survive, but you need to respect and protect them.
