Lay is a Gumbaynggirr and Gunggandji First Nations, and South Sea Islander genderfluid person who was born in Far North Queensland, but grew up on the Mid North Coast. They are finishing a Bachelor of Arts (Extended) at the University of Melbourne and working as the project officer at the National Indigenous Youth Education Coalition (NIYEC). They are a passionate storyteller with a commitment to truth-telling.
